
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His first role was private detective Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. The actor was nominated five times for Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (1980-1988) in the 1980-88 season, and took home the Emmy Award in 1985. From 2010 until 2010, Selleck has played New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. Since 2005, he has portrayed an uneasy police chief from a small town Jesse Stone in nine television films inspired by the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). In addition to his role in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in over 50 films and television shows, including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball and Lassiter. He appeared in frequent television characters as Monica Geller's love-interest Dr. Richard Burke on Friends and also as Lance White, the likeable and unassuming partner on The Rockford Files, and as casino owner A.J. Cooper at Las Vegas. He also had a part in the lead role on the television western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and is a spokesperson for National Rifle Association (NRA) as well as an endorser in ads for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
